Housing Services
With Housing Services, the Housing Stability Services Program can offer services related to individuals’ housing needs, either temporary or permanent. Certain stipulations apply to each of the services listed. Click on each title to learn the details of the services.
These Housing Stability Services are brought to you by the Waco Housing Authority and Affiliates through a grant by the Texas Department of Housing and Community Services.
Security Deposit
HSS can provide payment for your security deposit for an apartment or home. The amount of the deposit, though, must not exceed the amount of the monthly rental amount. Under no circumstances is HSS allowed to pay rent.
Pet Deposits
Pet deposits are allowed to be provided for up to 2 pets and no more than $250.00 per pet. HSS does not, however, pay for pet fees, only pet deposits.
Utility Deposits
HSS is allowed to provide assistance with your need for utility deposits and re-connection fees, as long as the total amount does not contain any past due amounts.
Application Fees
Application fees are allowed to be paid under this grant. The amount of the fee will be determined by the provider and HSS exercises the right to accommodate reasonable fees.
Moving Fees
HSS can provide the fees for moving expenses. The moving company is selected by HSS as three quotes must be secured. Once the mover is notified, you must prepare all your boxes and furniture to ensure a smooth and speedy move.
